This cute Ancistrus dolichopterus,peacefully working on an algae in l’aquarium tropical du palais de la Porte dorée in Paris, is probably unaware that it benefits from the same legal protection as Mona Lisa, as defined by the Code du Patrimoine.
More than that, it also is protected by the animal rights policy (chapitre IV du code rural et de la pêche maritime relatif à la protection des animaux).
The ownership status and protection of french heritage sometimes lead to interesting situations…
It doesn’t seem to bug him that much, though.
